Job Description
Lead Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining the company’s network infrastructure while managing a team of junior network engineers. This role requires technical expertise in networking, leadership skills, and the ability to collaborate with other departments to ensure successful network operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement network design, architecture and strategies
- Oversee the installation and configuration of all network hardware and software
- Ensure network security measures are in place and updated regularly
Plan and implement network redundancy strategies to minimize downtime
Coordinate with ISPs for network connectivity and troubleshooting - Conduct regular network performance analysis and provide recommendations for improvement
Manage escalated network support issues in a timely and effective manner - Supervise and mentor junior network engineers to meet objectives
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, regulations and standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve network issues
- Prepare and present regular network status reports to management
- Work on both active and passive network operations
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field
- Certification in CCNA, CCNP or any relevant certification
- A minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer
- Advanced knowledge of network operating systems including Cisco Switches, Routers, Firewalls, Sophos Firewall, Access points and Wireless LAN controllers.
- Hands-on experience in deploying NMS (PRTG, Cisco Prime, SolarWind).
- Expertise in communication, routing protocols and network analysis tools.
- Proficiency in network design and architecture
- Excellent understanding of physical and data link layers, and communication flow in existing networks
- Leadership and mentoring skills with the ability to manage a team of network engineers
- Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills with a focus on providing effective solutions
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Availability to work on-call and outside of regular business hours when required
